The President of the Parliamentary European Union Affairs Committee Agnieszka Pomaska is going to participate in the XLVIII COSAC, which will be held in Nicosia („Filoxenia” Conference Center), from 14 to 16 October 2012.
The Conference shall be organized as part of the parliamentary dimension of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, during the second half of 2012. The discussions of the Conference will focus on the Priorities of the Cyprus Presidency, the State of the Union, as well as on the topics of Energy – Security of Supply, Single Market – Governance and the Europe 2020 Strategy – Recovery from the Economic Crisis.
COSAC is a Conference of the committees of the national Parliaments of the European Union Member States dealing with the European Union affairs as well as representatives of the European Parliament. At the bi-annual meetings of COSAC, six Members represent each Parliament. In addition, the national Parliaments of the candidate countries are invited to participate with three observers each. COSAC meetings usually take place in the capital of the country holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
