Agnieszka Pomaska, MP for Platforma Obywatelska, has filed a notice to the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection. As she reports on her social media profile, this is all in connection with threats by Law and Justice politicians to use the personal data of people making donations to the party.

The actions announced by Law and Justice, the MP writes, are illegal. Pomaska also adds that failure to comply with RODO could result in a fine of up to €20 million. What is the issue?

Agnieszka Pomaska justifies this in her letter to the President of UODO. In it, she quotes the words of PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński, who said at a press conference on 30 August: ‘A campaign to deposit a few pennies each is being prepared to make things more difficult, but we will have the benefit of this because we will know where the Strong Together are. And that is also important for us.’

In a similar vein, Tobiasz Bocheński, Member of the European Parliament, who wrote on the X portal, ‘Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński: the action of donating one penny each to make things more difficult for Law and Justice is giving us the contact details of Silni Razem. Thank you. We will know where they are’.

These statements by Law and Justice politicians, according to the MP, raise legitimate doubts about the way in which personal data is processed by the Law and Justice political party. Therefore, she asks the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection to take action to clarify the matter and eliminate possible violations.
