Of course, abortion is not only a women’s issue, but they are the ones who have lost their lives in recent years due to drastic abortion regulations,” said Agnieszka Pomaska, a PO deputy, in an interview with Michal Kolanko.
Pomaska commented on the idea of introducing a nationwide referendum on abortion. Such a solution was proposed by PSL and Poland 2050 during their conference, at which the parties presented joint program points.
– I don’t understand this point. Especially since it is posted with the comment „we give the vote to women,” while the referendum involves the whole society. Of course, abortion is not only a women’s issue, but they are the ones who have lost their lives in recent years through drastic abortion regulations. I’m surprised at the MPs who support such a project, because I know them from slightly different views,” the parliamentarian said.
– We can’t do referendums on women’s rights. Maybe we should do a referendum on men’s rights, such as whether they can take potency drugs? We have some basic rights that should not be violated. Such a referendum would be humiliating for women,” she added.
