„In vitro is people”. – under this slogan, the collection of 100,000 signatures for a civic bill on state reimbursement of In vitro is underway. The bill assumes that the implementation of the health policy program for infertility treatment will be annually allocated funds from the state budget in the amount of no less than PLN 500 million. The press conference inaugurating the action – with the participation of PO Chairman Donald Tusk, Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz and Sejm Speaker Malgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, among others – was held today in one of Warsaw’s nurseries.
The project was initiated by Vice President of the European Parliament Ewa Kopacz in support of Citizens for Equal Access to Treatment. Its premise is to allocate funds for health policy in the area of infertility treatment, including funding for medically assisted procreation procedures, including in vitro.
The chairwoman of the Legislative Initiative Committee is MP Agnieszka Pomaska, who emphasized the importance of the initiative today at the conference as follows: „We are starting to collect signatures of support for this important project, because children are the future. We will collect so many signatures that PiS will have no choice but to support our idea!”
